Doug Kelley
Attorney and court-appointed receiver for the Petters Group companies

Nicollet Island Pavilion
Register by: Sept. 25

MinnPost.com writer Doug Grow described Doug Kelley as a man who “has climbed mountains, run for governor as a Republican, been wooed to become a DFLer, defended crooked pols, prosecuted people with Mafia ties, sued the good people of Minneapolis, exposed political skullduggery, worn a green beret. But his current job – as receiver sitting atop the $3.45 BILLION Tom Petters’ paper empire – looks to be Kelley’s biggest challenge ever.”

Join us at this year’s kickoff luncheon of the First Friday Speaker Series to learn more about Petters’ alleged Ponzi scheme and its implications.

Kelley’s background includes the positions of chief of staff for former Sen. Dave Durenberger and chairman of the Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board during the Ventura administration. His work as an Assistant U.S. Attorney earned him the Meritorious Achievement Award by the Department of Justice and was named a “Super Lawyer” by the Minnesota Journal of Law and Politics while in private practice. He currently is partner and president of Kelley & Wolter, P.A. and serves on the School of Law Board of Governors. This event is co-sponsored by the St. Thomas School of Law.

PARKING: Surface lot parking is available.

SHUTTLE: A free shuttle will depart at 11:30 A.M. from the St. Thomas Minneapolis campus on the corner of Harmon Pl. and 10th St. The shuttle will return to the campus immediately following the luncheon.
