Neel Kashkari

Initially working as an aerospace engineer, Neel Kashkari earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The Akron, Ohio, native attended business school at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, becoming an investment banker, covering the information-technology security sector for Goldman Sachs. Kashkari later played a number of roles in the response to the financial crisis and the subprime-mortgage crisis. He was named the president of the Minneapolis Federal Reserve in November 2015.
