This survey informs the future direction of our work, including the programming and services we offer. As a St. Thomas alum, you are important to us, and we appreciate learning what matters most to you, how you access information, how you want to engage and what kind of news feels the most relevant.
A 12-question survey was conducted from June 18-July 23, 2024. More than 1,370 alumni from all schools and colleges participated in the survey, and class years of respondents ranged from 1954 to 2023.
Recent insights (from all alumni):
- 82% of survey respondents agreed that they are likely to recommend St. Thomas, compared to 80% in 2023.
- Alumni are most interested in engaging in three ways:
- Supporting the university by recommending St. Thomas, attending alumni events, referring students and promoting the brand, followed by attending athletic events
- Supporting current students by giving career support
- Supporting their own career aspirations through professional networking and receiving career support
- St. Thomas alumni feel most connected to St. Thomas through their major or school/college, followed by their connection to friends.
- 76% of alumni feel somewhat informed or very informed about what's happening at St. Thomas compared to 71% in 2023.
Where Tommies Go Next
Through this survey, we invite graduates to share about their post-graduation plans. Responses help shape our services and resources so we can better prepare and support student and graduate career success from first jobs through retirement.
Recent insights (from graduates in the past year):
- 94% of Tommies employed or in graduate school within one year of graduation
- 64% had an internship while at St. Thomas
- 28% of those continuing their education, this percentage is going to graduate school for health services or medicine
