On this special day, Tommies and their families return to campus to reconnect with fellow alumni and participate in a variety of activities throughout the weekend. Not able to make it to campus? Watch this page to learn how you can celebrate the Tommie spirit from where you are!

Kick off game day, from 11 a.m. to 1p.m., at Purple on the Plaza sponsored by Wings Credit Union! Enjoy food, drinks, games and fun activities for all ages as we gather to celebrate before the big matchup.

St. Thomas News:

  • The upper quad was transformed with the construction of the Iverson Center, Frey Hall and Schoenecker North.
  • The last half of the Spring 2020 semester unexpectedly moved online with the COVID outbreak.
  • St. Thomas was voted out of MIAC in 2019 and prepared to enter DI athletics.

St. Thomas News:

  • Julie Sullivan, the first woman president of St. Thomas was inaugurated in 2013.
  • The Men’s Basketball team won the NCAA DIII National Championship in 2016.

Celebrating 20 Years

  • Pluto is reclassified as a dwarf planet.
  • “High School Musical” becomes a global sensation.

St. Thomas News:

  • In 2004 Flynn Hall opened on the Saint Paul campus.
  • Bill Gates and Dick Schulze spoke during the opening celebration of Schulze Hall on the Minneapolis campus in the fall of 2005.
  • In both 2024 and 2005, the Softball Team won the NCAA DIII National Championship.

Celebrating 25 Years

  • Wikipedia launches.
  • Apple introduces the first iPod, transforming how people listen to music.
  • The first “Harry Potter” film premiers in theaters.

St. Thomas News:

  • The School of Law opened on the Minneapolis campus.

Celebrating 30 Years

  • Dolly the sheep is successfully cloned, marking a milestone in scientific research.
  • Spice Girls release “Wannabe” and launch “Girl Power.”

St. Thomas News:

  • The first official St. Thomas websites were launched on www.stthomas.edu.
  • NASA astronaut Sally Ride spoke at the groundbreaking for the Frey Science and Engineering Complex.

Celebrating 40 Years

News:

  • Hands Across America brings millions together to raise awareness for hunger and homelessness.
  • The New York Mets win the World Series in one of baseball's most memorable championships.
  • “Top Gun” becomes the year’s biggest blockbuster and a cultural icon.

St. Thomas News:

  • The College of St. Thomas celebrated its 100th anniversary (1985 - 1986).
  • Protests by students and faculty against apartheid led the Board of Trustees divesting in South African companies.
