Finding Purpose Through Creativity and Connection

Some Tommies arrive on campus feeling right at home — Bryce Myskevitz ’20 truly did. His connection to the University of St. Thomas began long before college; he attended the Child Development Program while his parents completed their own degrees. Years later, a visit to campus confirmed what he already felt: St. Thomas was where he belonged.

During his time as a student, Myskevitz discovered a passion that would shape both his career and creative identity. A course with Dr. Peter Gregg opened his eyes to the power of storytelling through multimedia, sparking an interest in photography, video production and digital design. What began as curiosity quickly grew into a calling to create work that captures meaningful moments and connects people through authentic, visual stories.

Today, Myskevitz continues to explore creative media through projects that bring ideas to life and build genuine connection. His work reflects a commitment to storytelling that feels vibrant, human and impactful. That same spirit extends into his personal life, where he celebrates meaningful milestones including becoming a father to his daughter, Amara, purchasing his first home and preparing to marry his fiancée whom he met during his college years.

Living the St. Thomas mission of “All for the Common Good,” Bryce uses creativity as a way to bring people together and amplify authentic voices. When asked what career advice he has for current students, Myskevitz said, “St. Thomas offers so many ways for you to start building experience in any industry. You don’t need the perfect resume to begin. Start creating, building and trying things early.”

From lifelong friendships to meaningful work and a growing family, Bryce’s journey reflects the power of community and the lasting impact of a St. Thomas education.

“Connect with as many people as you can and make friendships. The St. Thomas almuni network is so strong and people will remember you as a Tommie, so work hard, be respectful and have fun! Join clubs or groups and really put yourself out there, thats how you meet people. St. Thomas has so many experiences and opportunities on campus to meet people, so take advantage.”

“Don't wait to be ready, start now! St. Thomas offers so many ways for you to start building experience in any industry. You don’t need the perfect resume to begin. Start creating, building, and trying things early.”

“Go to campus, and see what it has to offer. It is absolutely gorgeous, the food is incredible and it offers so many cutting edge technologies for everyone to use that it is one of the best places to be in the city. The neighborhood it is in is BEAUTIFUL year round, and has something for everyone in every season. St. Thomas has amazing professors who are so willing to always help and class sizes are smaller than the massive state universities, so you can feel seen and heard. Professors will know you, and you are not just a number. St. Thomas also has an incredible alumni network and Tommies look out for each other.”
