Alumni Board
The mission of the Alumni Advisory Board is to foster a lifelong commitment between the University of St. Thomas and its alumni. The board provides advice and counsel on key areas in support of the university’s strategic priorities, as well as the priorities identified in alumni surveys.

The Alumni Advisory Board is a non-governing board comprised of St. Thomas alumni. The members of the Alumni Advisory Board represent the diversity of the university's alumni, colleges and schools and its members come from a variety of professional backgrounds and class years.
The Alumni Board advises the university on promoting the general welfare of the University of St. Thomas and its alumni, providing programs and services to further the purposes of the university and the goals of the university's colleges, schools and departments.
Terms
Each member shall serve a three-year term. An invitation for a second consecutive term may be extended by the Executive Committee. Past board members may apply to return to the board three or more years after a previous term.
Alumni Advisory Board responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Serve as the voice of the alumni population to the university
- Provide insight, support and expertise to the University
- Actively participate in the life of the university through activities such as attending events, participating in programs and engaging digitally
- Serve as ambassadors for the university and actively support and promote the mission
- Provide key liaison points to circles of influence
- Make philanthropic gifts to St. Thomas
Members of the Alumni Board serve important roles and are critical to the St. Thomas' success. Members are asked to make time, talent and financial commitments to help the Board achieve its goals.
The following are the key expectations of Board Members:
Time
- Attend quarterly Board meetings and review advanced materials
Talent
- Provide advice and counsel to the university through board meetings, optional task force participation and other opportunities that may arise
Treasure
- Make a gift to St. Thomas each year during your term
- Gifts may be directed to any area of the university in which you want to make an impact
- Board members are encouraged to consider giving at the President's Leadership Giving Society level ($1,000 per year minimum; reduced minimums for young alumni in first 10 years after graduation)
Circle(s) of Influence
- Be an advocate and connection point for Thomas within your circles of influence
