This Change is Nothing New
At the University of St. Thomas, change has been in our DNA since Archbishop John Ireland founded a small, Catholic liberal arts college where faith and reason walked together.
As a Dl institution, those convictions continue to guide St. Thomas’ evolution into nationally recognized comprehensive, urban university.
Classroom
During the 2022-23 academic year, more than 40% of Tommie student-athletes had cumulative GPAs of 3.50 or better. That includes 75 with cumulative GPAs of 3.75 or better; 42 with 3.9 or better; and 19 with a perfect 4.0.
Community and Character
With more than 2,000 volunteer hours, our student-athletes embraced opportunities to serve the common good during the 2022-23 school year. Teams built community playgrounds, assembled meal kits at Feed My Starving Children, sorted and packaged food at Second Harvest Heartland, read at local schools, hosted youth groups on and off campus, and raised awareness and funds for cancer research.
Competition
Tommie Athletes are competing in the most visible tier of the NCAA, sharing the Tommie spirit and brand with the nation, when competing in the Summit League, CCHA, WCHA, and Pioneer Football League. In doing so, they are national media coverage for St. Thomas on ESPN family networks, BTN family networks, FloSports, Bally’s, MIDCO and FOX9+.
