The Crest Launch Party and Departmental Alumni Reunion
Join students, faculty, staff and your fellow alumni on Nov. 8, 2024, as we celebrate a new era for student media on campus and the Department of Emerging Media’s new home in the state-of-the art Schoenecker Center.
Alumni earned degrees with many names over the years, from Print Journalism to Broadcast Journalism to Journalism, from COJO Creative Multimedia to Digital Media Arts, and from Advertising, Public Relations and Strategic Communication (just to name a few).
At this gathering, you can meet and connect with fellow alumni who have already signed up. Other event highlights:
- Music by KUST Student Radio, with setlist advising by John Keston, an award-winning musician.
- Remarks from President Rob Vischer.
- Remarks from Pulitzer Prize Winners Art Cullen ‘79 and Jeremy Olson ‘95.
You’ll also be joined by friends of the department such as university officials and members of the local media community.

Appetizers, beer, wine and nonalcoholic beverages will be available. One drink ticket per person (21+) for wine and beer; after that a cash bar is available.
Directions & Parking
The best address to use in GPS is for St. Mary’s Chapel at 2260 Summit Ave. The north entrance of the Schoenecker Center is next door.
Alternatively, you can enter by the south entrance. At the intersection of Cretin and Grand, turn West toward the Anderson Parking Facility. You will see a courtyard and the entrance is marked with a sign.
Parking:
The Anderson Parking Facility will be at maximum on this date, so we encourage travel on foot, by cab or by public transportation. Visit Metro Transit’s trip planner to find your route.
